Sondeza Youth Leadership camp
Youth development is a priority of Swartland Municipality and the Sondeza youth camp was initiated in 2004, with 56 youths who attended the first camp. Since 2004 the attendees of the camp has grown to 90 children per annum and they are between the ages of 16 and 17 years. The camp is held annually at the Ganzekraal holiday resort and children from the West Coast region, as well as international countries attend.

Children from Taiwan, Namibia, Russia and Germany as well as the West Coast are invited annually for this leadership camp.
The aim of the camp is to develop leadership amongst the youth, as well as to encourage youths to get involved with community projects in their schools and respective communities.
